FAMILIAR WITH THE WINE LABEL AWARDS? GO STRAIGHT TO REGISTRATION!
HISTORY
Have you ever wondered what prompts the consumer to pick a bottle of wine off the shelf in a retail store? Is it the name? The look? The feel? The shape? The design? Or the packaging of the bottle? As a winery, you know that while the wine in the bottle must stand the test of time, the wine label is an essential component of your branding that influences the consumer’s choice of your wine over others. The BC Wine Museum is delighted to work in partnership with the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society to honour wineries across the province for their excellence in creative excellence and ingenuity in wine labelling. This competition explores the elements of presentation and marketing of wine and the influences affecting the consumer’s choice and consumer's buying decision.

THE JUDGES
For 2014, we are asking you to enter your wine label online. We will be soliciting judges from within the province of British Columbia, representing a diverse array of industry expertise from: graphic design, web design, artists, creative agencies and brand stewardship professionals.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Entries are judged on individual merit as well as in competition to other entries in that category. Judges will base their decisions on originality, design, colour and text of the label. In all categories, the judges will look for visually distinct label designs that best reflect the character of the category of wines. Specifically, they will look to the success with which the winery has connected the overall look of the label and its internal design elements with both the bottle shape/size and the traditional image of the specific wine type.
ENTRY PROCESS
The British Columbia Wine Awards entries will all be done online. When you enter your wine label and pay the entry fee, you will submit a high resolution art image of your wine label online to allow us to use this file to circulate to all judges.
