September 11, 2019 - Kelowna, British Columbia – It’s fall in the Okanagan which heralds the return of The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society’s (OWFS) Fall Wine Festival, now in its 39th year. This year the festival will take place from October 3 – 13, and will feature over one hundred wine-centric events taking place up and down the valley.
“From grape stomps to educational seminars to multi-course paired harvest dinners, the Fall Wine Festival has something for every wine lover,” says Okanagan Wine Festivals Society’ Chair, Angela Brown. “This year is a particularly exciting one, as we’re announcing a new Fall Wine Festival Finale, Sensation, presented by Valley First! This is a one-of-a-kind experiential tasting, where wines have been paired with different cultural experiences, keeping the five senses in mind. Guests can see, touch, hear, smell, and (of course) taste their way through dozens of B.C. wines at this sensational event.”
On top of the plethora of wine experiences taking place across the Okanagan are two other signature wine events put on by OWFS. Kicking off the festival is the province’s most prestigious wine competition, the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor’s Wine Awards and Reception. As well, we have the return of the famous WestJet Fall Wine Tastings event; a large-scale tasting featuring dozens of wineries hawking samples under one enormous roof- the Carson Air Hangar at The Kelowna International Airport.
Tickets for the festival’s events are going fast, with some events already over 75 per cent sold out. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit www.thewinefestivals.com. The Fall Wine Festival’s signature events are 19+ only.
